Onion Pie

From "Germany - A Culinary Tour"

Pie crust:
4 cups flour
2 eggs
3 1/2 oz / 7 tbsp butter
pinch of salt
5 fl oz milk
1 oz compressed yeast / 2 tbsp dry active yeast
Filling:
2 1/2 lb onions, thinly sliced
2oz smoked bacon, diced
1 1/4 cups sour cream
4 eggs
5 tbsp flour
pinch of caraway seeds and salt

Make dough and leave to rise for 30 mins in a warm place. Slice onion ^ saute wothout browning. Fry bacon quickly and add to sour cream, eggs, flour, caraway, salt and onions.

Roll dough and use to line a springform. Spread topping on dough and bake for approx 1 hour until golden brown at 430F (220C). Serve warm
